Miscellaneous operating revenue

Under this heading are included items of operating revenue, normally of a minor nature, which are earned in addition to the main source of revenue, that is, sales. Such items may include commission and interest earned. When preparing the profit and loss statement, it is customary to show miscellaneous operating revenue as an addition to gross profit.
